University of Virginia athletic miscellany [manuscript], 1934-1947.

Basketball, football, boxing, baseball and track schedules for the 1934-1935 season published on wallet sized advertising cards by local businesses including Jones Barber Shop, the University Book Store and Johnson's Confectionery and Tostwich Shoppe. The collection also contains football programs, schedules, tickets, aluni luncheon reservation card and betting cards for the fall 1935 season. The schedule from University Book Store is advertised as an "adkerchief" or combination of calendar, memorandum, football schedule and dress handkerchief for a gentleman's top pocket. The collection also contains a clipping of an article, 1935, on the athletic integrity of the University of Virginia and its refusal to award athletic scholarships. The collection also contains the 1947 baseball and track schedules.
